About This Ingredient

Ceramides are the lipids of the hair's cell-membrane complex; the sphingoid ceramide family carries decades of barrier-repair literature (Coderch 2003).

The mechanism: ceramides of this family bind preferentially to chemically damaged hair and condition the fiber — shown ex vivo for close homologues (Bernard 2002).
