About This Ingredient

Butyrospermum parkii — a stearic/oleic butter with a high unsaponifiable fraction, carried in our repair mask.

The receipt: shea's barrier and emollience effects on skin carry independent literature; on hair it seals moisture at the surface and softens.

What it does not do: the unsaponifiable fraction is not a UV filter and does not meaningfully protect from styling-tool heat — heat protection is a film-former's job at specific doses, and we don't borrow it. Barrier-class moisturisation is the claim.
